Newspapers

Thailand has three English language newspapers, The Bangkok Post and The Nation. A wide range of international publications is also readily available, including The Asian Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune, Time and Newsweek.

Cable and satellite TV

Most hotel rooms offer international programmes in English as well as other languages. A variety of channels broadcast news (BBC, CNN, CNBC), sports (ESPN, STAR Sports) and entertainment (HBO, MTV, STAR, Hallmark, Discovery).

Internet and wi-fi

Broadband internet is readily available in all major cities and towns, and hotels will provide a LAN cable or wi-fi service at low cost or, very often, free of charge. If you are using a wi-fi enabled laptop, in addition to the hotels there are many places that offer a “hot spot”. These include Starbucks, Coffee World, Au Bon Pain and some branches of McDonald’s. Some are free, others will make a charge.
