Message from the Executive Committee
At the 2010 TICA Annual General Meeting in March 2011, TICA announced its intention to be more proactive in marketing Thailand to incentive planners. We are pleased to report that this “action plan” has been carried out, where TICA recently invited overseas buyers, in this case, Singapore Corporate Executives to Bangkok and Chiangmai for a 5-day familiarisation trip.
Further famtrips are planned for the year where our next target will be the Australian market.
Thanks to TAT and THAI for their support on the famtrips. Thanks also to members who participated in and contributed to the project.
Another exciting update is the launch of TICA’s first training seminar for members where we were honoured with the “spirit of volunteerism” of committee members, all of whom are MICE experts in their own right, to help train junior to middle level personnel on the complexity and rigorous demands of the MICE market at the recent, “MICE Market Segmentation” seminar held in Chiangmai. The very same seminar will also be repeated in Phuket later this year. |

Message from President Elect, Khun Sumate Sudasna
I would like to express my appreciation towards TICA members and Board of Directors 2011-2012, who voted to place me as TICA President for another term. I am deeply honoured by your nomination and shall serve TICA to the utmost of my abilities.
As you may be aware, one of our main goals for 2009-2010 was to forge close relationships with industry and trade organisations. Progress on this is evident from the fact that Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT) chairperson and Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) president are on our BOD as Advisors, underlining solidarity of the industry. We look forward to working together to maximise this positive synergy.
Our firm working relations with the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) are most apparent as projects launched throughout the previous 2 years speak for themselves. These co-operations have made TICA’s projects more impactful with the solid support extended by both national organisations. |

Message from the Executive Committee
We trust you have received the 2011 TICA Election Rules, Regulations and Procedures for the upcoming TICA Annual General Meeting (AGM)scheduled for Thursday, 31 March 2011 at the Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel, which was mailed to you recently.
The AGM is an important event where members share and discuss various pertinent industry and membership issues, in addition to the presentation of the association’s activities in the past year.
2011 is Election Year which means that this year’s AGM is especially important as a new Board of Directors are elected by YOU, the member, and placed in the BOD. The BOD manages and set the direction for TICA.
Please be sure to submit your pre-nomination form to nominate the person you wish to be elected to TICA’s Board of Directors.
At TICA, we encourage the spirit of volunteerism and hope you will once more be able to contribute your valuable time to help set forth the association’s mission. After all, an association is only as strong as how members want it to be.
We look forward to receiving your nominations and to seeing you at the upcoming TICA Annual General Meeting. |
